When and where are ETB job vacancies advertised?
Vacancies may arise throughout the year and advertising is dependent on same. Limerick & Clare ETB utilises a e recruitment package for recruitment of new employees and to handle applications for internal post promotions.
When do Night Classes commence?
Night courses generally commence towards the end of September/early October in some schools and colleges of further education. Classes may also take place in January/ February. See course search for details of all our courses. It is advisable to contact the College/Centre you intend enrolling in as each College/Centre has varying start dates.
What financial support is available to me if I wish to study?
When can I apply for a Third Level Grant?
Limerick and Clare ETB do not process grants for new course applicants. Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) is the single awarding authority for all new student grant applications. The SUSI helpdesk is available Monday to Friday 9.30-5pm on 0761 08 7874 or alternatively visit the SUSI website for more information.
I have lost my certification from secondary school, how do I get copies of these certificates?
If you have lost or misplaced your certificate of results you may apply to the State Examination Commission (SEC) for a statement of results. The SEC may charge a fee for this service.
Do the ETB’s come under the auspices of the Ombudsman?
As and from 1st May 2013 ETB’s are subject to review by the Office of the Ombudsman.
Can I appeal a decision made on my Freedom of Information Request?
Yes. Under the Act, the person who has requested the information has the right to appeal an FOI body’s decision- firstly to a more senior staff member within the FOI body then the staff member who made the original decision (referred to as an Internal Reviewer), and then to the Office of the Information Commissioner if the decision is still not satisfactory. The Information Commissioner’s decision in this instance is binding.

What is the purpose of the Freedom of Information Act
